DRUDGE REPORT 2009®: "al Qaeda warns France of revenge for burka stance..."
All praise to Sarkozy for his stance on this. If women wish to wear burhkha in a private setting that is fine, but in public it is as offensive as nudity. Religious tolerance MUST have limits.
The arguement that wearing the burkha dor not harm women is not enough. Should people be able to choose slavery? There are good arguments for this by Muslims in Muslim countries. But, our taboos say no, even if hat means complex laws that define the limits of contracts.
Willingness to be abused is not sufficient arguement for the burkha. Even where prostitution, for example, is legal, sex slavery is abhorrent and against our laws. Society does have its right to norms.

There’ll be no tent for God at Camp Dawkins -Times Online
There’ll be no tent for God at Camp Dawkins -Times Online: "WHEN schoolchildren break up for their summer holidays at the end of next month, India Jago, aged 12, and her brother Peter, 11, will be taking a vacation with a twist.
While their friends jet off to Spain or the Greek islands, the siblings will be hunting for imaginary unicorns in Somerset, while learning about moral philosophy. The Jagos, from Basingstoke, Hampshire, are among 24 children who will be taking part in Britain’s first summer camp for atheists."
An American Car?
Test Drive: 2010 Ford Taurus SHO | Popular Science: "The new Taurus leapfrogs mainstream midsizers like the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Chevy Impala, both in size and price. But for the extra five or so grand, the Taurus feels like a premium car at a $10,000 discount, instead of a decked-out mid-pricer. Big difference. The SHO is all that plus 100 extra horsepower and the stiffened suspension to match. It's not as off the hook as the 1989 SHO, but rather a new, more refined model aiming to satisfy what the Europeans would call 'executive' tastes."

Beautiful, too beautiful A Muslim "Kol-Nidre," an Iranian "Battle Hymn of the Republic."
There is something poetic about all this ahppening while the media acts as if the death of Michael Jackson was a prelude to his resurrection and assension. Is Jackson the mahdi?

Happy couple breaks racial prejudices
Pang Xiaoyan met her Ugandan husband when he visited her office for a routine business meeting. That was the first time she had ever set eyes on a black man. The only thing she could think of asking him was: "Are you a Christian?"
Happy couple breaks racial prejudices
As luck would have it, Senyonyi John Mbaziira was in fact a Christian, and they exchanged phone numbers after he promised to recommend a place where she could pray.
