The bottom line is that the Republican party has done what the DEms never did ... merged with tis most extreme end and given them the levers of control.

Th great achievement of Bill Clinton was in cleansing his party of its socialist/pacificit extfremists. Even more impressive was the sacrifice of the Dixie wing by Kennedy and Johnson.

The contrast with McCain's cowarliness of decision is absolutely dreadful. A man many of us admired for his willingness to speak out against the Radical Religious Right. He has lost the respecft of a wide swath of people like myself, people who served in Vietnam or fought against the war but reconciled after it in a common understanding of the American freedoms such a reconciliation meant.

I have gone from being a fervent McCain supporter to considering him a Quisling or Hindenberg.

So that is why I am outraged.

Why should everyone be scared? Because our laws protect the two party system. Even in McC/Dobson/Gingrich/Chaney/Palian lose the election, the fight for control over the remainder of the party has now all but been won and the opportunity for the Radically Religous to build something in their own image is all too real.; 7:33 PM
