Syria's ambassador to the US is due to hold talks with a state department official in what is seen as the highest level meeting between the two countries since Barack Obama moved into the White House. Imad Moustapha and Jeffrey Feltman, the acting assistant secretary of state for the Middle East, will discuss concerns including Syria's support for groups that Washington labels as "terrorists", the US state department said. The two diplomats were expected to meet on Thursday. |
