Vote Fraud to Come

ACORN GROUP SUPPLIED NEARLY 4,000 FAKE VOTER REGISTRATIONS IN CLEVELAND AREA - New York Post: "Investigators probing ACORN have learned that an Ohio man registered to vote several times and cast a bogus ballot with a fake address, officials said yesterday, as they revealed that nearly 4,000 registration applications supplied by the left-leaning activist group were suspect."

Here is the beginning of my post. And here is the rest of it.

Obviously the focus on Acorn is more Radical Republican Rovian trickery. Anything is fair in love, war and .. by their standards .. politics. Acorn's defense that some fraud is inevitable in any large scale registration effort and that registration is not the same as voting is valif.

BUT

This issue does raise a long term bete noir for me ... the mail-in ballot. Isn't it obvious that sloppy registration plus main-in ballots will inevitably lead to huge vote fraud?

Just imagine .... it is 2011 and Pres Obama is running vs. candidtae Palin. We have nationwide mail in voting. The Rvian machine works with the Christian Conservatives and every effin church/political cell assure that ALL its members register. Next, the same effin cell has a vote-in night where ballots are filled in with the help of advisers!

The potential for fraud on either side is obvious but the potential for organized and legal manipulation on the right is much higher.

But wait, there is more. Suppose a really radical group wanted to undermine an election. It would be extremely easy to swampt the system with plausible registrants. Hell ... a simple wrtiing machine with a database would have no trouble creating names a lot more plausiblr than the inventions Acorm n has ctalogued. Now tie that to an automatted voting effort!

Could this be caught? Yes but the mischief would have been done.
