The Flagellum Unspun
In his book No Free Lunch, William Dembski makes the case for intelligent design by arguing that the bacterial flagellum, thanks to its apparent irreducible and specified complexity, could never have been produced through evolution. To support his argument, Dembski presents a calculation for the flagellum, which he describes as a "discrete combinatorial object". sents a calculation for the flagellum, which he describes as a 'discrete combinatorial object'."OF COURSE! If biology said this, Dembski would have a point. Actually, if we look at any event this way, it would be a miracle because we assume no element of the event or entity had a prior history. So everything is a miracle, so nothing is a miracle.
