Does Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (aka Immadinnerjacket ) Secretly Have Jewish Roots? | HULIQ

Does Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Secretly Have Jewish Roots? | HULIQ: "A report by the Telegraph purports to have solid evidence that Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has Jewish roots. The proof of this is the photograph of the Iranian president holding up his identity card during elections in March 2008 which the site states 'clearly displays the evidence. ..the name derives from "weaver of the Sabour", the name for the Jewish Tallit shawl in Persia. The Telegraph notes that a close-up of the document reveals Ahmadinejad previously had the surname Sabourjian, which is a Jewish name meaning cloth weaver. A short note on the ID card, according to the Telegraph, suggests that Adhmadinejad's family changed their name when they converted to Islam after his birth.

Iranian freedom activist Banafsheh Zand-Bonazzi emails the same remark, and also notes:
...Ahmadinejad isn't the only covert from Judaism. THE most dangerous bloodthirsty psychopath, Habibollah Asgaroladi, the head of the Motalefeh party and his deputy Elias Eliasi are also newly Jewish converts to Islam...to say...they converted 35 years ago...

BUT ...

Ahmadinejad has no Jewish roots

Rumours that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's family converted to Islam from Judaism are false. In fact, they are proud Shias  alternative explanation.

Actually, the alternative  explanation is not fully convincing and certainly less fun.  For one thing, is the claim that the namne was on Iran's list of names reserved for Jews correct?  For another, if his mom was  descended from the Prophet, how did she become a Farsi?
