Huckabee Is a Normal Guy, Columnist Argues - Chronicle.com

Huckabee Is a Normal Guy, Columnist Argues - Chronicle.com: "Is Mike Huckabee the most normal candiate running for president? David Brooks, the New York Times columnist, thinks so. In an opinion article published Friday, he argues that Mr. Huckabee is “funny and engaging,” “neighborly,” and “the most in tune” of all the candidates with “the white working class” — the “backbone of the GOP.” As evidence, he points out that Mr. Huckabee, a former governor of Arkansas, was the first male in his family to graduate from high school. He paid his way through college by working 40 hours a week, graduating in just two and a half years. Mr. Brooks also notes that Mr. Huckabee has endorsed programs that are “ideologically incorrect for conservatives,” such as arts education. Mr. Huckabee has said that arts and music education should be a bigger focus in the United States."

errr ahhhh

is this an endorsement? My mechanic is a very good mechanic, my rabbi is a good guy too. Are we reduced to this sort of criterion? or does it matter that Huckabee thinks the Earth was created 6000 years ago by a guy who does not think being gay is acceptable? I like Mr. H too. He sounds like a great drinking buddy and his thoughts are fun to read, but it is frightening to imagine that anyone as main stream as David Brooks would think that a delusional religous person should serves as President.
