BEIJING - China on Thursday celebrated 60 years of communist rule with a military parade and lavish ceremonies on Beijing's Tiananmen Square showcasing the nation's revival as a global power."
Revival? ... is history being rewritten? So far there have been four world powers ... Spain, England, Russia and the US. No other nation. not even the Third Reich or Napoleonic France, has had the global reach to be able to make war on all of the continents.
China is now joining that exclusive club. China, moreover, will be the first global power with an overwhelming mono-ethnic population large enough to represent a huge portion of the world's population. It is also the first non European global power.
